Savory Cookies

Did you know you can make sweets with dashi? Here’s how to bake cookies using Kayanoya's Original Vegetable Stock Powder.

Ingredients

About 30 cookies

  • 1 packet Kayanoya Original Vegetable Stock Powder
  • [A] 90 g cake flour
  • [A] 2 tbsp almond flour
  • 80 g unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 50 g grated Parmesan cheese
  • Black pepper (to taste)
Directions
  1. Sift [A], and bring butter and egg yolk to room temperature.
  2. Cream the butter with a spatula, add sugar, and mix until light and fluffy. Add the egg yolk and mix well.
  3. Add [A], Kayanoya Original Vegetable Stock Powder, and grated parmesan cheese. Once the dough comes together, divide it in half and shape each piece into a log about 2.5 cm in diameter.
    (Optionally, sprinkle black pepper on the surface of the dough.)
  4. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
  5. Slice the dough into 0.3-inch thick rounds and bake in a preheated oven at 170°C for 16-18 minutes.
